Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

The short version: Deckery is a journal that keeps everything on your iPhone. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours. We do not collect, see, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. What you write stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it yourself.

Information we collect

None. Deckery has no user accounts and no backend servers. We have no way to read your entries, and we do not receive any personal information about you — not your name, your email address, your contacts, or your location history.

Where your data is stored

How your entries are processed

Turning your writing into a structured card happens entirely on your device. When your device supports it, Deckery uses Apple's on-device foundation model (Apple Intelligence). On other devices it uses Apple's on-device Natural Language framework together with built-in rules. Either way:

Permissions we ask for, and why

You can change or revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Deckery Pro is sold through Apple's App Store and processed entirely by Apple using StoreKit. We never receive your name, payment card details, or billing address. Apple provides only an anonymous, verified receipt confirming that a purchase exists, which is what allows Deckery to unlock Pro features. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

None. Deckery contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting SDKs, and no third-party code of any kind. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), we do not build profiles, and we do not track you across apps or websites. That is why Deckery never asks for tracking permission — it does not track.

Network activity

Deckery does not operate any server of its own. Your entries, photos, and moods are never sent to us or to any third party, and there is no sync, no telemetry, and no remote logging.

Two features do use the internet, and both talk only to Apple:

Nothing else in the app contacts the network. And because Deckery has no server of its own, there is nowhere for your writing to be sent even in principle.

Data retention and deletion

Your entries stay on your device for as long as you keep them, and we keep nothing at all. You are always in control:

Your privacy rights

Under regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA, you have rights to access, correct, export, and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because Deckery collects nothing and we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to look up, hand over, or erase on your behalf — and nothing has ever been sold or shared. Your data is already entirely in your own hands, on your own device. If you have questions about this, you are welcome to contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

Deckery is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children. Since the app collects no data at all, there is nothing for a parent to request the deletion of.

International users

Deckery does not transfer your data across borders, because your data is never collected or transmitted in the first place.

Terms of use

Your use of Deckery is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, together with any additional terms shown at the point of purchase.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Deckery handles data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Any material change will also be noted in the app's release notes. Because the app is built to keep your data on your device, we do not expect this policy to change often.
